The Change Agents spread positive messages about what we like in the world and don't want impacted by climate change, and give tips on what we can do to slow the warming.

The Change Agents was started as a Facebook group on Earth Day 2020, the 50th anniversary of the date, to motivate people to make changes to fight climate change. We encourage each person to first find their why - what do they enjoy that they don’t want harmed by global warming? Once we have our motivations, we share information on what we each can do to be a Change Agent.

Beginnings.

The Change Agents was started by Sarah Lewis, an attorney and author with a love of nature and the environment. Sarah attended Middlebury College and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies. She went on to obtain a law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law and Masters in Environmental Science from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The losses of loved ones motivated her to try to make a positive difference in the world, and on the climate front in particular. Thus was born The Change Agents. The idea actually originated in an upcoming climate fiction novel by Sarah, The Change Agents: Whispers in the Wind, and expanded from there.

Why.

It’s no secret that climate change is one of our greatest challenges, and we need to focus on addressing it, now. The doom and gloom messages associated with this topic, though, aren’t necessarily the best motivator to drive change. The Change Agents focuses on the positive - that there are plenty of good reasons to fight climate change, and we can be successful in making a difference - to inspire people to action.

How.

Each person will have their own path toward being a Change Agent. The most important thing is to do something. This website will provide resources so you may find the best way for you to fight climate change. Welcome to the world of the Change Agents!
