It’s Electrifying
Time sure does fly. I’ve been knee deep editing my climate fiction novel, “The Change Agents: Whispers in the Wind” and didn’t realize it had been so long since the last post. In any event, I recently came across this article about electrifying our lives to reduce our carbon footprints. I’m finding that doing so is a mind-set. Change can be difficult, but we need to focus on the end goal to save the planet from a very different future than what we enjoy today. It’s easy to be caught up in the initial personal inconvenience of learning a new way of doing things, but wouldn’t it be better to adjust on our own terms now, when we have a better chance of making a long-term difference?
I recently switched from a gas to an electric-powered vehicle. I have to admit it’s worrisome to now wonder whether I can make a longer trip on a full charge, and search for charging stations on the way and at the destination. I also discovered that not all chargers are the same and many take a whole lot of time to charge. You don’t realize how we take quick fill-ups at ubiquitous gas stations for granted until you have to power up in a different way. I remind myself I’ll adjust and the EV is the way to go. I’m learning how to maximize the charge with driving style and route choices. It’s nice to be more aware of energy in this way. I encourage you to make the switch to electric yourself, whether it be in your vehicle, kitchen stove, lawncare equipment, public transport, etc. Join the electric revolution!
